About Meander Talent Academy
Meander Talent Academy teaches HR and Talent leaders three things: people analytics and workforce planning, applied AI for real HR work, and how to get a recommendation approved by an executive team. Courses are self-paced, practitioner-led, and built around a work product you finish and keep. Two are free.
What we teach, and why it is these three things
The job changed faster than the training did. HR practitioners are now asked to build models finance will sign off, to put AI to work on sensitive people data, and to defend both in front of an executive team — three skills that were nobody’s job description five years ago. Analytics without influence gets ignored. Influence without analytics gets found out. AI without either produces confident, unusable answers. We teach all three because the work requires all three.
“Data without a decision is noise. The job is not to produce the analysis — it is to make the next move obvious to the person who has to make it.”
Who teaches it

Royal Navy aerospace engineer turned HR data practitioner. Seven years leading engineering teams on frontline squadrons, MIT Sloan MBA, then Wayfair — where he owned process innovation across a 400+ recruiter global TA function and cut time-to-hire by more than 50%. Five years consulting Fortune 500 and PE-backed companies on workforce planning and AI strategy. Now teaching those same skills at scale.

Common questions
What is Meander Talent Academy?
Meander Talent Academy is a professional education provider for HR, People, and Talent Acquisition practitioners. It teaches three things: people analytics and workforce planning, applied AI for HR work, and the executive communication needed to get a recommendation approved. Courses are self-paced, built around real work products, and taught by a practitioner rather than an academic.
Who is it for?
Mid-to-senior HR practitioners — HR analytics, TA operations, HR operations, and HR business partners — usually at companies between 500 and 10,000 employees, who are being asked to work with data, adopt AI, or present to executives, and whose training never covered any of it.
How much does it cost?
Two courses are free and need no card. Individual courses are $99 each. All-access covers every course in the catalog for one year at $149. Team programs are facilitated and quoted per engagement.
Do the courses count toward SHRM recertification?
Yes. Meander Talent Academy is a SHRM Recertification Provider, and courses carry SHRM Professional Development Credits. The catalog is estimated to be worth around 20 PDCs, against the 60 PDCs a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP holder needs across a three-year cycle.
Who teaches the courses?
Chris Mannion, founder of Meander. He spent seven years as a Royal Navy aerospace engineer, took an MBA at MIT Sloan, then owned process innovation across a 400-plus recruiter global talent acquisition function at Wayfair, where time-to-hire fell by more than half. He has spent five years consulting Fortune 500 and PE-backed companies on workforce planning and AI strategy.
How is this different from other HR training?
Most HR training teaches tools or frameworks in the abstract. Every Meander course is built around a work product you finish and keep — a capacity model, an adverse impact analysis, a three-slide executive recommendation — using the tools you already have rather than software you would have to buy.
